Victorian picnic set for two in a leather hamper. Doulton Lambeth condiment pots with pewter lids and spoons, two drinking bottles with pewter lids, one Vichy Etat bottle, two sandwich tins and two enamel plates.
This set is quite a find: a rare, Victorian picnic set for two in a leather hamper. Every piece in this set is in incredible shape and crafted with care and detail. The glazed salt shaker and condiment pots were made by Doulton Lambeth and have a pewter lids that screw down. There are also two pewter-topped glass bottles, one Vichy Etat bottle with a cork, two white enamel plates, two sandwich tins, and two small condiment spoons. The cutlery was added later to set but the leather holder is original. There is a maker’s mark on the inside of the hamper lid that reads’ ‘A.W Dear & Co Hyde Park Corner, SW’. The top of the hamper is stamped with ‘M E C’.
