Butternut Side Board ca 1840. One of North America finest hand made side boards. Butternut ( otherwise known as white walnut) was almost harvested to extinction by 1850. The top is one 23″ slab and sides are 20″. Interior and back boards pine, cast hinges, dove tailed joinery, walnut knobs and original working lock and key. 49″x 40″x 23″d
