A rare and unique piece. A small round antique chess table from the early Empire era, with burl wood veneer and chessboard inlay. The six-sided pedestal with foliage/ pedals carved around the base gives the impression of a vase and sits atop a tripod base on bun feet. The entire piece is veneered with warm-toned burl wood and is a very striking and unusual table.  Measures 21″ H x 21.5″ across.
